On January 26, 2018, MWITS hosted the MWITS Open House 2018 and continued with the MWITS Science Fair 2018 on January 27, 2018. Many Thai junior and senior high schools throughout the country participated in this annual fair. Exchange teams from Australia and Japan also participated in this event. In the Open House 2018, MWITS students and teachers prepared a variety of activities for all participants to enjoy and help them get to know more about the school. Seniors opened their home for juniors to learn more about how MWITS students spend their time in their second home. In addition to science activities and an exhibition, MWITS students took turns entertaining guests with various shows such as a Thai Classical Dance Show performed by grade 12 students and shows from MWITS students clubs, as well as mini concerts by MWITS talented bands.

In the opening ceremony of MWITS Science Fair 2018, MWITS was very pleased to welcome Mr. Chatchwas Wuttisirisart, an MWITS alumnus to give such an inspiring speech about being a successful and happy researcher. In addition, one selected project, entitled “Ambient Detector” was presented by grade 12 students: Mr. Arun Wongprommoon, Mr. Poonyapas  Sinpanyalert, and Miss Phetprakrai Siripowsuwankul. This project won many awards from national and international competitions such as The Twentieth National Software Contest: NSC 2018, Student Innovation Challenge Thailand 2017 (SIC Thailand 2017), and 11th International Convention on Rehabilitation Engineering & Assistive Technology: i-CREATe 2017

In the science fair, participating students had to present their science projects both in poster and oral presentations. Participants had the opportunity to gain valuable comments and feedback from experts, advisors, and teachers, and also exchange their knowledge and experience with friends. MWITS aims to develop students’ research skills by encouraging them to do research projects on the topics of their interest.
